CARM Gets it Right: A Response to a SDA – Objection...This entry is part 7 of 14 in the series SDA Propaganda RefutedRE: Objection 6 NOTE: Objection 6 is just a link to Glenn’s writings on the doctrine of Hell. As an SDA, he denies pretty much everything that the Bible (and Church history) teaches about Hell. I’ll have to address these writings separately in the future. RE: Objection 7 This is similar to Objection 6 in that the SDA believes that the archangel Michael was really Jesus. Glenn links off-site to an SDA website where you see a bunch of jumping around, non sequitors, and leaping to conclusions that, supposedly, prove that M...

CARM Gets it Right: A Response to a SDA – Objection...This entry is part 6 of 14 in the series SDA Propaganda RefutedRE: Objection 5 Glenn now moves away from the Sabbath issue and focuses on the rest of CARM’s page on SDA. CARM says CARM cannot recommend any church which would openly deny the biblical doctrine of predestination (in contradiction to Eph. 1:1-11). This is a pretty straightforward statement. The word “predestination” (Gk. προορίζω) is specifically used. But, alas, Glenn’s ignorance rears its head again (NOTE: Ignorance is not, ipso facto, a bad thing. It is willful ignorance that I am speaking of.)...

CARM Gets it Right: A Response to a SDA – Objection...This entry is part 5 of 14 in the series SDA Propaganda RefutedRE: Objection 4 We turn our attention to Romans 14:1-12 and the statement by CARM: Furthermore, Romans 14:1-12 speaks of our freedom in Christ, particularly our freedom to worship on any day we choose. To which Glenn objects with: Again, more texts taken out of context. I think these guys need to learn the fundamental rules of interpretation. The entire chapter has plenty of food references, and not once does it talk or mention the Sabbath. What is the chapter talk about then? Fasting. Paul was telling the hearers not to be...

CARM Gets it Right: A Response to a SDA – Objection...This entry is part 4 of 14 in the series SDA Propaganda RefutedRE: Objection 3 This objection by Glenn is raised concerning 1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. Glenn objects with: Again, another text taken out of context. If they took the time to delve into what Paul was writing about, the brethren at CARM would understand that Paul was requesting donations for disaster/famine relief, just like churches today are encouraging members to give to relief organiz...

CARM Gets it Right: Excursus 1This entry is part 2 of 14 in the series SDA Propaganda RefutedThis is a response to this post which was itself a response to a previous post of mine. Well, it didn’t take long for the ad hominems and snide remarks to start. Maybe I brought this on myself or maybe not. Either way, from here on out I do hope that this SDA can remain adult and civil. In response to my assertion that Acts 13:42 is speaking of Jews and not Christians, Glenn responds with Now, I’m not sure what version he’s quoting, but to answer his question, he needs to look no further than a different translation. Dani...
