Perhaps we’re accustomed to only thinking of Jesus as “a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief” (Isa. 53:3). His crucifixion is certainly no laughing matter. Part of me wants to dance and see this as a joyful occasion. The other part, the one that has won out, sees this as a mockery of the Godly (at least its supposed to be) union between one man and one woman.
